The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently allocated Transit Security Grant Program dollars to two more agencies.

The department awarded $1.1 million to St. Louis Metro to help fund upgrades to the agency’s emergency responder communications system and additional security systems at various facilities.

In addition, DHS granted $893,530 to the Port Authority of Allegheny County, which will use the funds to deploy rail emergency cars and perimeter security systems, as well as add closed-circuit televisions and other security equipment on the bus system.
