St. Louis' Metro achieves FTA 'excellence' award

Metro St. Louis recently received the Urban Transit Excellence Award from the Federal Transit Administration's Region VII Office.
The award recognizes the best-performing transit system in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. This year, Metro — which operates light-rail and bus service — posted the largest ridership increase of all the regional transit agencies.
"Ridership is an important performance measurement for the transit industry," said Regional FTA Administrator Mokhtee Ahmad in a prepared statement.
