St. Louis Metro launches service on Cross County extension

On Aug. 26, St. Louis’ Metro took the wraps off the eight-mile Cross County Metrolink extension. The agency provided free rides throughout the opening weekend.

The $676 million light-rail extension links St. Louis, University City, Clayton, Richmond Heights, Brentwood, Maplewood, and Shrewsbury, Mo. The line includes nine new stations and a redesigned Forest Park-DeBaliviere station.
