Sweden’s Skanetrafiken recently awarded a $319.2 million contract to Alstom Transport to supply 49 CORADIA LIREX regional trains.
Scheduled to be delivered in second-half 2009, the trains are designed to operate in extreme winter-weather conditions, according to Alstom.
Alstom has sold 157 CORADIA LIREX trains since it introduced the vehicle in 2002.
