TCU, Amtrak reach agreement covering reservation sales agents

advertisement

The Transportation Communications International Union (TCU) recently reached a five-year labor agreement with Amtrak covering reservations sales agents.

Amtrak and TCU established a longer pay-rate progression and lowered starting rates for new reservation sales agents. After eight years, workers will receive the full rate. The pact does not affect current sales agents.

Under the contract, Amtrak agreed not to outsource reservations work for five years. If the railroad decides to outsource those duties, Amtrak must give TCU six months’ notice. However, the agreement would become null and void, the rate progression would be cancelled and employees would immediately obtain the full pay rate.
