TMCA changes name to Transportation Marketing and Sales Association

On Jan. 11, the Transportation Marketing and Communications Association changed its name to the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association (TMSA).
The new name “reflects a strategic direction the organization initiated in 2010 to widen the association's focus beyond the integrated disciplines of marketing and communications to encompass transportation sales,” association officials said in a prepared statement. “In recognition of our partnership role with sales, our new name encourages and welcomes transportation sales professionals to join forces with us as TMSA members.”
TMSA also developed a new logo that’s more representative of the transportation industry and the association’s role in it, officials said. The association plans to officially launch the new name and logo at its 2011 annual conference to be held in June in San Diego.
Founded in 1924 as a railroad-based association, TMSA seeks to serve the interests of transportation marketing, sales and communication professionals.
