The Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) recently promoted Ruben Peña to assistant director of business acquisition.

Most recently a member of the Association of American Railroads’ (AAR) marketing department specializing in the government sector, Peña will be responsible for acquiring new government and commercial projects, coordinating sales and marketing efforts, and providing liaison duties with the AAR.

He will relocate from TTCI’s Pueblo, Colo., center to the AAR’s Washington, D.C., offices. An AAR subsidiary, TTCI operates a 52-square-mile multi-modal testing and training facility owned by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).

In 1993, Peña joined the AAR as a mechanical engineer. He accepted a marketing department position in 2003.

“Peña’s presence in D.C. will provide the FRA with a closer contact for managing ongoing projects [and] further assures TTCI a more timely response in securing new railway-related opportunities,” said TTCI officials in a prepared statement.
