The Port of Tacoma’s commissioners recently identified interim Executive Director John Wolfe as the top candidate among five finalists for the permanent executive director position.
Wolfe has served as the Washington state port's interim leader since Jan. 1 and deputy executive director since June 2005. Prior to joining the port, he served as executive director of the Port of Olympia for two years.
In March, the port hired Shey-Harding Associates to find a permanent replacement for former Executive Director Tim Farrel, who departed at the end of 2009. The commissioners and Shey-Harding plan to begin negotiations with Wolfe on a contract for the permanent position.
