Teamsters Canada Maintenance of Way Employees Division members recently ratified a tentative three-year agreement the union reached with Canadian Pacific in April.
Covering 2,100 CP maintenance-of-way workers in Canada, the contract provides a 6 percent wage increase over three years, expiring Dec. 31, 2012. The pay raise is “consistent with the pattern of all other Canadian labor agreements for this period,” CP officials said in a prepared statement.
In addition, the pact contains a suite of work rule changes that will “give the company increased flexibility to more cost effectively deploy staff against work load,” the officials said.
