TexAmericas Center yesterday launched a qualified sites program designed to speed up the site certification process for companies locating to its 12,000-acre development in northeast Texas.
TexAmericas offers an on-site rail yard and 30 miles of track on its properties. It is served by subsidiary TAC Rail, which offers transload and rail-car storage and movement services. The company also provides third-party logistics services to assist tenants with inventory management, warehousing and fulfillment needs.
Under the new qualified site program, an on-staff engineer and economic development professionals will grade a specific site for industrial or commercial development suitability based on proximity to infrastructure, utilities, soil condition, transportation assets and title oversight, TexAmericas officials said in a press release.
Certified sites have become an important part of the site selection process, especially for mega sites measuring more than 500 acres, TexAmericas officials said. Because TexAmericas is self-certifying the sites, the company is calling its product a “qualified” site, meaning that it’s qualified to be certified by an outside firm, they added.
TexAmericas Center in Bowie County, Texas, is one of the largest mixed-use U.S. industrial parks, TexAmericas officials said.
