On Dec. 13, Fort Worth & Western Railroad Co. (FW&W) train and engine-service workers chose United Transportation Union as their collective-bargaining representative, according to National Mediation Board.

Out of 28 eligible FW&W voters, 18 cast votes for UTU, one cast a write-in vote for Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and nine didn't submit votes. The 242-mile short line's workers currently aren't represented by a union.

FW&W, which interchanges with Kansas City Southern, Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroad, also operates an excursion steam line between Grapevine and Fort Worth, Texas.
