TieTek L.L.C. now has two composite-tie production plants in Texas. Yesterday, the North American Technologies Group Inc. subsidiary announced it opened a 50,000-square-foot production facility in Houston to complement the tie producer’s flagship manufacturing plant in Marshall.

The Houston facility will increase composite-tie production by 50 percent and provide capabilities to manufacture cross- and switch-ties up to 22 feet long, TieTek said.

The company now will operate three production lines — manufacturing enough ties each week to consume 500 tons of recycled plastic and rubber from more than 15,000 used tires.
