advertisement

The Timken Co. recently began offering reconditioning services for axle boxes, housings, and cylindrical and spherical bearing boxes in an effort to increase its rail business.

"This is a natural expansion of our services, [and] builds upon both the capabilities of our reconditioning facilities and our engineering knowledge in rail applications," said Thomas Dupaski, Timken president-rail, in a prepared statement.

The company plans to continue offering reconditioning services for cylindrical bearing journal boxes and Timken® tapered roller bearing
housings.

Timken, which has offered railroads tapered roller bearing reconditioning services for more than 40 years, supplies Timken® AP™ and AP-2™ pre-lubricated tapered roller bearings, and premium rail-bearing
grease.
