The Timken Co. will supply 480 axle bearing assemblies to Bombardier Transportation for 60 high-speed locomotives the rolling stock manufacturer is building for the Spanish National Railway (RENFE).
The locomotives will be equipped with Timken’s sensors, which are designed to monitor bearing temperature.
RENFE will use the locomotives to power Talgo trains traveling at speeds up to 250 mph on its Madrid-to-Barcelona line.
