Toronto agency begins prep work for third track

Toronto’s GO Transit recently began construction on the Lakeshore East line to make room for a third track.

The agency is constructing a Warden Avenue bridge; work on the Danforth Avenue and Woodrow Avenue bridges is expected to begin during the next several months.

The bridges will enable GO Transit to construct a third track between the Danforth and Scarborough stations. The Lakeshore East project is one of 12 major infrastructure projects — costing about $1 billion — GO Transit plans to complete during the next several years to increase service.
