University of Denver's Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) Sept. 26 postponed until spring 2002 its summit meeting of the United States' and Mexico's transportation secretaries, and Canada's transport minister planned for Oct. 18 and 19 at the university.

"Given the events of the past two weeks, the ITI board of directors determined that an effective summit could be constructed for spring 2002 to address the most recent global transportation needs and security issues," said ITI Board Chairman Thomas Finkbiner in a prepared statement.

ITI plans by year-end to announce new dates for the summit, which would include open sessions for the media and registered attendees.

To obtain future schedule, panelist and registration information, contact ITI by phone at 303-871-4702 or visit its Web site at www.du.edu/transportation/summit.
