Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
Transport Canada recently created a brochure and launched a Web site to encourage Quebec’s youth to work in the transportation industry.
The brochure ("A Job in Transportation, a Destination of Choice") and site (www.tc.gc.ca/youth/quebec) provide information on transportation careers and specialized jobs that soon will become available because of an aging workforce.
Transport Canada officials developed the brochure and site in conjunction with representatives from the rail, aviation, trucking and marine industries.
"World class, sustainable transportation systems … require the vision and energy of an innovative transportation sector, driven by a highly skilled workforce," said Canadian Transportation Minister Jean Lapierre in a prepared statement.
