The Transportation Research Forum (TRF) is seeking submissions for its 46th Annual Research & Policy Forum to be held March 6-8, 2005, at George Washington University's Marvin Center in Washington, D.C.

The organization is interested in research papers and proposals for panel sessions on all transportation areas. The annual forum's themes include transportation policy, finance, security, global trade and public-private partnerships.

Abstracts are due Oct. 15; final papers and panel session proposals are due Dec. 15.

For more information, contact Professor Anthony Pagano at the University of Illinois at Chicago by email at amp@uic.edu or visit TRF's Web site at www.trforum.org/callpapers/.

Meanwhile, TRF has scheduled two fall meetings. On Sept. 9, Anthony Cracchiolo, director of priority capital programs for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, will discuss the AirTrain at JFK International Airport at Giovanni's Atrium in Manhattan.

On Sept. 24, Colin Rees and Michael Halley of CRT Group in Melbourne, Australia, will offer a presentation in New York City on the CargoSprinter, a new short-haul intermodal technology under development in Australia. Already operating in Europe, CargoSprinter is designed with a Volvo truck motor to power a lightweight train, which features cabins at both ends to enable one person to operate the vehicle.
