November’s Freight TSI of 98.5 declined 0.3 percent from October’s level, but rose 1 percent from November 2009’s mark. However, the index stood at its lowest November level since November 2001, BTS said. During an 18-month period prior through November, the Freight TSI climbed 5.4 percent.

November’s Passenger TSI of 114.8 inched up 0.9 percent from October’s level and increased 4.4 percent from November 2009’s mark. The index has risen 4.2 percent in the past five years and 12.1 percent in the past 10 years, according to BTS.
