TriMet, Google team up to offer online trip planning

The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) recently partnered with Internet search engine Google to provide transit trip-planning information.
The new service, Google Transit, is being tested at www.google.com/transit. So far, TriMet is the only transit system available, but Google plans to expand the service to other cities worldwide.
The site provides cost comparisons between TriMet’s services and driving, and detailed satellite images of the agency’s routes.
