TriMet breaks ridership record in September

The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) posted a new ridership record in September by carrying 8.6 million passengers. Average weekly ridership on the agency's rail and bus systems totaled 2 million, up 8.8 percent compared with September 2007.
Average weekly ridership on the MAX light-rail system rose 7.9 percent to a record 702,300. Average weekday ridership increased 7.7 percent to 110,400.
