TriMet records highest-ever ridership in FY2005

Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) posted record ridership in fiscal-year 2005, which ended June 30. The agency carried 96 million passengers, a 5 percent increase compared with FY2004.
On the 44-mile MAX light-rail system, TriMet carried 32 million passengers — a 16 percent increase compared with the previous fiscal year. An average of 97,000 passengers rode MAX trains each weekday, a 15 percent increase compared with FY2004.
In June, MAX posted its highest-ever ridership, averaging 102,900 trips each weekday and 96,400 trips on Saturdays.
