On Nov. 17, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) will hold an open house to present the final design for the I-205 light-rail line.
The project includes extending light-rail service 6.5 miles between Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center along Interstate 205 and building eight stations. Projected to carry 33,000 passengers daily by 2025, the line will include service to the downtown Portland Mall.
Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2006 and be complete in September 2009.
