TriMet's light-rail ridership slips slightly in November
advertisement
Rising unemployment levels and falling fuel prices might be starting to affect some transit agencies' ridership figures.
In November, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon's (TriMet) daily rush-hour light-rail ridership remained flat at 31,900 riders, but overall, light-rail ridership fell 1.7 percent compared with November 2007's totals.
However, TriMet's rising bus ridership helped offset the light-rail decline. The agency posted an overall ridership gain of 3.6 percent, recording 1.9 million bus and light-rail trips in November.
