Logistics Management magazine recently named Triple Crown Services Co. the top rail/intermodal service provider for 2006 — the fifth time in the past six years the Norfolk Southern Corp. subsidiary has earned the honor.
In spring, Reed Research Group polled more than 6,000 logistics professionals to rate transportation service providers in five areas: on-time performance, value, customer service, information technology, and equipment and operations. Survey participants evaluated all modes and chose the top performer among railroads, motor carriers, intermodal companies, ocean carriers, airlines, air express carriers, freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers.
Logistics Management will honor the top performers at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ annual conference to be held Oct. 15-18 in San Antonio.
Triple Crown Services provides intermodal services in the United States and Canada, and operates a fleet of more than 7,000 RoadRailer® trailers.
