Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) recently awarded a 10-year contract to The Rail Network Inc. to install and maintain a digital television and radio network onboard passenger-rail cars.
Beginning this spring, MARTA will air a local news program on five 15-inch flat screen televisions inside each car. The screens will feature closed captioning, but passengers can listen to programs by using a personal FM radio. Passengers also can use radios onboard trains to tune in one of three different music channels or the MARTA Information Channel, which will provide operational and service announcements.
