This week, Union Pacific Railroad was named a 2010 Best Diversity Company by Diversity Careers in Engineering and Information Technology.

The magazine honored UP for its support of minorities and women, attention to work/life balance and supplier diversity commitment, UP officials said in a prepared statement.

“It is critical for the success of our company that we attract the most capable people, regardless of their gender, race or ethnicity, to work for Union Pacific,” sad Senior Vice President of Human Resources Barb Schaefer.
