Union Pacific Railroad recently presented its 10th annual Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Awards to 30 shippers. The awards recognize chemical and petrochemical shippers’ safe loading and load securement techniques, and non-accidental release achievements.
Since 1994, non-accidental hazardous material releases have decreased 53 percent on UP because of increased inspections by the railroad’s field personnel and shippers’ efforts.
