UP named Lowe's 'rail carrier of the year'

Union Pacific Railroad has been named “2009 Rail Carrier of the Year” by Lowe’s Home Improvement.
UP was chosen “based on the company’s ability to differentiate itself through its variety of products and the railroad’s commitment to customer service,” UP officials said in a prepared statement.
“We work hard to understand our customers’ needs, develop strategic freight transportation solutions and provide outstanding customer service,” said Eric Butler, UP vice president and general manager of industrial products. “We are honored to be recognized by Lowe’s and our entire Lowe’s team is dedicated to delivering even better results in 2010.
