Later this month, Union Pacific Railroad will begin increasing train speed from 10 mph to 30 mph on a line running through Jordon and Montgomery, Minn.

The Class I will increase speed 15 mph on June 30 and five mph on July 7.

UP also will increase train speed from 30 mph to 50 mph between Adams, Wis., and northwestern Milwaukee.

The railroad will boost speed 10 mph on June 16 and nine mph on June 23 in Adams, Grand Marsh, Brooks, Oxford and near Glen Oak; and 10 mph on June 16 and 10 mph on June 23 in South Beaver Dam, between North Lowell and Clyman Junction, and between Sussex and Butler.

Train speeds have been restricted on the lines because of track and operating constraints. However, UP recently improved track in the areas.
