On May 10-12, the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board will hold its sixth National Rail Employer Training Seminar at the Allerton Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chicago.
The event is targeted at railroad officials responsible for preparing and filing reports of service, compensation, contributions and other business interactions with the board. The seminar will include instructional sessions on crediting service and compensation under the Railroad Retirement and Railroad Unemployment Insurance acts, and employer and employee coverage under the acts.
In addition, RRB officials will discuss new Medicare prescription drug coverage and its effect on railroad retirement beneficiaries, present the board’s disaster recovery and service continuity plans, and describe the agency's post-Hurricane Katrina customer service efforts. National Railroad Retirement Investment Trust Chief Investment Officer Enos Throop Jr. will review the latest performance of trust-managed assets.
Attendees also can join discussion sessions designed for Class Is, regionals and short lines.
