U.S. court dismisses BLE-UTU merger suit
advertisement
The lawsuit against Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, filed Aug. 30 by three of its members, lasted exactly a week.
U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland in Baltimore Sept. 6 dismissed the suit, which sought to void a member vote on the proposed BLE-United Transportation Union merger.
U.S. District Judge Frederic Smalkin ruled that Baltimore was not the
proper location to hear the case.
The suit had named UTU as an interested party.
