The U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center recently awarded a $39 million contract to Native American Industrial Distributors Inc. (NAID) to provide transportation security software systems.
Software developer NAID is partnering with ENSCO Inc., Allied Technology Group and SoneTech Corp. to provide systems designed to enhance the safety, security and operability of the nation's rail, truck and air transportation systems. The contract includes vulnerability assessments, planning, system implementation and testing, and threat and countermeasure evaluations to protect domestic infrastructure from sabotage and terrorist attacks.
Governed by the USDOT's Research and Special Programs Administration, the Volpe center provides transportation and logistics research, analysis, and system deployment services to the USDOT and other federal, state and local agencies.
