United Transportation Union-represented signal maintainers, mechanical forces and maintenance-of-way workers at Illinois & Midland Railroad (IMRR) recently ratified a new five-year agreement covering wages, benefits and working conditions. Eighty-six percent of the workers voted in favor of the contract.

The agreement provides a general wage increase, including retroactive pay to April 1, a cap on health care insurance contributions and a new short-term disability plan.
