UTU-represented NQT workers ratify CN agreement

Canadian National Railway Co. Aug. 27 announced that United Transportation Union members ratified a five-year collective agreement affecting 68 workers on CN’s 1,200-mile Northern Quebec Territory (NQT).
The contract will preserve and extend flexible work practices and hourly pay rates, and increase wages and benefits retroactive to May 1, 2000.
Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers members already ratified CN deals affecting 152 NQT employees.
Meanwhile, CN continues to seek a new agreement with 64 NQT workers represented by Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
