Union Tank Car Co. plans to introduce tank-car leasing and manufacturing principles to international business students from 25 countries during a June 21 field trip to the company's Chicago offices and East Chicago, Ind., plant.
The company will offer students a historical overview of the tank-car business; present perspectives from marketing, finance, management and manufacturing executives; and provide a manufacturing tour, according to a June 17 press release.
The students are participating in The Marmon Group Global Trade Institute (MGGTI), a Junior Achievement International program to be held at Chicago's Illinois Institute of Technology involving 100 top Junior Achievement students from 70 countries.
MGGTI offers networking opportunities to business students from diverse cultures to learn about U.S. entrepreneurship, international business, global economics and trade, e-commerce, launching a high-risk business, management practices and business ethics.
Union Tank Car is a member of The Marmon Group, an international association of more than 100 manufacturing and service companies with collective sales of more than $6 billion.
