• Alstom Transport obtained a $13.6 million contract from Stockholmståg, which operates commuter trains in Stockholm, Sweden. Under the contract, Alstom will maintain a fleet of 135 trains over a five-year period.

• Miner Enterprises Inc.’s SaniLOK gates have been chosen as an application for food grade covered hopper cars by American Railcar Leasing, Chicago Freight Car Leasing and TrinityRail for new and rebuilt cars leased to Cargill, Domino Sugar, Imperial Sugar and Union Pacific Railroad.

• Cornerstone Systems Inc. appointed Nicole Futernick sales representative in the Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., metropolitan area. She most recently worked with FTS in south Florida selling non-asset based truck and rail services.

• Michael Baker Jr. Inc. announced several promotions. Thomas Zagorski was named senior vice president and national director of construction services; James Deschenes was named VP and West Transportation design-build leader; John Mentz was named VP for the environmental services area; and Raymond Wattras also was named a VP for the environmental services area.

• Planar Systems Inc. was named the official display provider to Xingtai Xianfeng Ultrasonic Electronics for its ultrasonic rail-flaw detectors operating on China’s entire rail network.

• Railinc Corp. President and Chief Executive Officer Allen West was named to the Teradata Travel and Transportation Board of Advisors. The board includes business leaders who represent all facets of the travel and transportation industry.
