•    Hirschmann Automation and Control has named Crane Service a premier dealer in Brazil. Crane Service offers Hirschmann’s entire line of PAT, Krueger and Hirschmann brand crane operator aids.

•    WL Ross & Co. L.L.C. and The Greenbrier Cos. announced that the newly formed WL Ross-Greenbrier Rail Holdings L.L.C. has acquired a lease portfolio of nearly 4,000 rail cars valued at approximately $230 million.

•    Parsons Brinckerhoff has appointed Richard Schrader chairman. Schrader will succeed Keith Hawksworth, who is retiring after 33 years with the firm. Schrader currently is executive vice president and chief financial officer.

•    Skire Inc. has been contracted by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Capital Construction Co.  for automating contract modification and project cost management processes on the MTA’s East Side Access project.

•    IEEE Spectrum has honored IBM’s work with Russian Railways as a project that the technology business magazine expects to "achieve great social benefit and commercial success," IBM officials said in a prepared statement.

•    Green Globe International Inc. announced that its Green Globe brand has been featured in a co-marketing program with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) that highlights BART’s position as a green transit option, Green Globe officials said in a prepared statement.
