• Icahn Enterprises L.P. recently consummated the acquisition of about 54 percent of American Railcar Industries Inc.’s (ARI) issued and outstanding common stock from affiliates of Carl Icahn. Icahn Enterprises issued about 3.1 million depositary units in connection with the ARI deal.
• MERMEC Group recently appointed Russell Taylor president and chief executive officer of subsidiary Imagemap. Taylor has more than 32 years of railroad and mass transit experience, starting with Canadian Pacific in 1977. He has worked in a variety of capacities, including construction and construction management, design and engineering, and sales and marketing. Taylor most recently served The Okonite Co. as vice president, railroad and transit sales.
• Michael Sweeney recently joined TranSystems’ New York City office as national transit market sector leader/vice president. Sweeney most recently served AECOM as VP for all transit activity in the eastern United States and Canada. His experience includes managing the infrastructure rehabilitation of Grand Central Terminal for MTA Metro-North Railroad and the restoration of Times Square Station for MTA New York City Transit. He also served as chief engineer for MTA Capital Construction’s new terminal station as part of the East Side Access project.
