Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) recently began extending a TRAX light-rail line to the Salt Lake Intermodal Hub.
The $45 million, one-mile extension calls for installing track from Arena Station southwest to the intermodal center, reconstructing streets and completing utility work. The extension’s scheduled 2008 opening will coincide with the launch of the FrontRunner commuter-rail line so UTA passengers can use the hub to transfer between light- and commuter-rail trains, and buses.
