VIA Rail takes top honor in travel agents' awards

For the second year in a row, VIA Rail Canada Inc. has taken first place for passenger-rail services in the annual Agents' Choice Awards. More than 3,500 travel agents participated in the voting, which covers 22 categories.

The agents cited VIA Rail's user-friendly Web site, knowledgeable staff and good service as the reasons for the top honor.

Transit operators among the top 10 include the Rocky Mountaineer, Rail Europe, British Rail, Orient Express, Amtrak, Japan Rail, Brewster, Royal Caribbean Pacific and the Trans-Siberian Railway.
