In January, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will begin operating closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance systems at some light-rail stations and transit centers.

VTA currently uses CCTVs on light-rail vehicles and buses.

The video-on-demand digital surveillance system will enable staff to conduct investigations and identify individuals involved in security incidents. The system provides live video feeds to a central location.
