Van de Water to become National Mediation Board's newest member

Today, Read Van de Water will be sworn in as a member of the National Mediation Board (NMB). On Dec. 9, the Senate unanimously confirmed her nomination.
Van de Water most recently served the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) for two years as assistant secretary for aviation and international affairs.
Prior to USDOT, Van de Water founded Carson King Consulting, which she managed from 2000 to 2001. She also previously served The Business Roundtable as legislative counsel for international trade and investment from 1997 to 1999; Northwest Airlines, as legislative counsel and director of government affairs from 1991 to 1997; and Texas Congressman Tom DeLay, as appropriations associate and legislative assistant from 1987 to 1991.
President Bush nominated Van de Water to NMB in September.
