Virginia Railway Express (VRE) recently received the governor’s Transportation Safety Award, which recognizes the agency’s contribution to safety in Virginia’s transportation industry.
VRE received the award primarily because of its Commuter Awareness for Safe Travel (CAST) program. Launched late last year, CAST is a five-step program that offers ways passengers can be safe, smart, informed, aware and prepared.
