Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Morgan Boulevard Metrorail station recently received an Award of Excellence in Institutional Architecture from the Northern Virginia chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The station — which opened in December 2004 — was designed by HMM/STV Largo Joint Venture and constructed by Clark-Kiewit Largo Joint Venture.

The glass and steel facility features dual elevators, escalator/stair pairs, and improved signage and lighting.
