WMATA to gather feedback on Alexandria yard expansion

On Jan. 4, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will hold an open house and public hearing on the proposed Alexandria Service and Inspection Yard Shop in Alexandria, Va.
The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation asked the authority to gather public input before expanding the shop to maintain more passenger cars. The project calls for adding 12 maintenance bays and reorienting tracks west of the shop to expand the existing bays.
