On Feb. 24, Wabtec Corp. named Alvaro Garcia-Tunon senior vice president, chief financial officer and secretary to succeed Robert Brooks, who plans to step down as CFO March 31.
Brooks will serve as executive vice president-strategic development and continue his role as a board member.
"[Brooks] will work closely with the Audit Committee of our board, provide guidance to our internal audit group and offer invaluable counsel to our management team on corporate strategic issues," said Wabtec President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory Davies in a prepared statement.
Garcia-Tunon has served Wabtec since 1995, most recently as senior vice president of finance, and as vice president and treasurer until 1999.
Previously, he served as vice president of business development for Pulse Electronics, which Wabtec acquired in 1995.
"[Garcia-Tunon] is well known in the financial community as a result of his duties in treasury and investor relations, and we expect a very smooth transition," said Davies.
