On March 17, Canadian Pacific Railway named Mike Waites chief executive officer of the railroad's U.S. network.
Waites will assume responsibilities of the newly created position as well as continue to serve as CPR's executive vice president and chief financial officer. The new responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to improve the performance of the Class I's midwestern and northeastern U.S. operations, such as improving interline service and expanding CPR's market reach.
In 1997, Waites joined CPR as vice president and comptroller. In 2001, he was named EVP and CFO.
