Rail News: Rail Industry Trends
The Surface Transportation Board recently appointed Matthew Wallen director of the Office of Governmental and Public Affairs.
He has extensive experience in dealing with a cross section of rail industry stakeholders, including railroads, shippers, labor unions and commuter-rail constituents.
Since April 2003, Wallen had served as chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Steven LaTourette (R-Ohio), who previously chaired the House Subcommittee on Railroads. Prior to joining LaTourette’s staff, Wallen was a staff member and staff director of the House Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management.
