Watco Cos. L.L.C. recently named Tony Cox senior chief engineer for maintenance of way for the West, Central & Gulf/East regions. He will be responsible for planning, developing and overseeing the capital and maintenance budgets, as well as MOW staffing, training and safety in each region.

Cox, who has 28 years of railroading experience, joined Watco in July 2007. He previously managed the track departments at Kyle Railroad Co., StatesRail and RailAmerica Inc.

Watco also named Thad Davis assistant general manager for the Stillwater Central Railroad. He most recently was senior logistics coordinator for Musket Corp. Davis previously was a superintendent for Lippert Brothers and logistics manager/train dispatcher for Union Pacific Railroad.
